Many summer residents even in the period of cold weather think about what vegetable crops will grow in their garden. It is especially difficult to choose cucumber seeds from a wide variety of species. But through trial and error, I found for myself the five most productive and delicious hybrids that I now plant every season.
Artist F1
This variety belongs to the ultra-early, since the first fruits appear on it about 40 days after the appearance of the first noticeable sprouts. From one bush, on average, I collect about 8-10 kg of cucumbers. The vegetables themselves are covered with large tubercles (spikes), have a rich emerald hue. On one node, you can count up to 7-8 cucumbers in the ovary.
There are few seeds in the fruit, and the pulp is dense without bitterness, so cucumbers of this variety are perfect for pickling and pickling, and for fresh consumption - for salads.
I appreciate this hybrid not only for its high productivity, but also for its resistance to high temperature indicators (both the heat and even the drought in me, "Artist" withstood "excellent"). The immunity of the variety is also quite high - it is immune to most cucumber diseases.
Since the "Artist" grows well in the shade, I sometimes grow it in the room (in early spring). So the first fruits I get before the onset of summer.
Kibria F1
I can calmly plant this variety both under the film and in the open ground - the yield from this does not decrease at all. The variety is early and self-pollinating. But there is one important “but” - the bush stretches out very quickly, so you need to feed the plant well so that its lashes are strong and do not bend at the stage of formation of the ovaries.
The cucumbers themselves are non-short, but at the same time they have large tubercles along the entire length of the fruit. The color of vegetables is dark green. The seeds are a little the same as the “Artist”, but the taste is more pronounced and sweet. In principle, I used cucumbers of this variety both for salads and for preservation, and I am not at all disappointed. I would call "Kibria" a universal variety of cucumbers.
Herman F1
Another super-early hybrid that I grow almost every season. Keep in mind that cucumbers of this variety belong to the gherkin type. With proper care and compliance with all recommendations for cultivation, "German" will bear fruit for a very long time.
A distinctive feature of this species is its high immunity. For all the years of my growing on the beds, these cucumbers have never been infected with viruses or fungi.
An undoubted plus for me is the fact that this variety gives a plentiful harvest even in difficult climatic conditions. Its small fruits are very tasty, crispy, dense, perfect for preservation even in liter jars. But salads are very fragrant.
Goosebump F1
Another universal variety for me. Belongs to the category of early ripening self-pollinating hybrids. I grew it already in the open ground and in the greenhouse. In all cases, he gave a rich harvest without any difference in taste.
In the sinuses of this variety, up to 5-6 cucumbers are tied, which do not have spikes, but are covered with large tubercles throughout the body of the fetus. Since the vegetables are tasty, sweet, without watery, small size, they are ideal for preservation. But I like to eat them fresh - in salads. Therefore, I recommend to cultivate this variety to supporters of a healthy diet.
Boy with thumb F1
An early ripe hybrid variety, the fruits of which ripen on 35-40 days after the appearance of the first shoots. Small-tuberous fruits have no thorns and grow up to 10 cm in length. I can calmly grow this variety in an apartment or on a balcony - this does not particularly affect the yield or taste of the gherkins.
In one ovary, up to 5-6 cucumbers are formed, which have a rich sweet taste without bitterness. Perfectly suitable for pickling, preservation and fresh consumption.
I appreciate this variety not only for its excellent taste (all the varieties in my selection are distinguished for it), but also for the simply fantastic resistance of these vegetables to heat, drought and insufficient watering. So, if the summer is forecasted to be hot, and due to my work I can’t often go to the cottage and water cucumbers, then I choose this unpretentious variety.
